The Lynchburg Redevelopment and Housing Authority is dedicated to the improvement of the quality of life for all Lynchburg citizens by being a leader in community development, revitalizing neighborhoods and facilitating economic growth and development, by seeking and entering into partnership with organizations and clients to achieve safe, decent, and affordable housing, with an emphasis on homeownership, maintained in a manner that fosters pride and dignity. Programs include public housing, housing voucher program, rental rehabilitation and Coordinated Homeless Intake and Access (CHIA).

An organization that provides affordable and accessible rental housing opportunities to people with disabilities and low incomes in the greater Lynchburg region. Rush Homes saves the state of Virginia money annually by providing community-based housing options for those with disabilities and helps to improve our community by becoming advocates for those who have little support.

The Haven


The Haven is a multi-resource day shelter for people facing homelessness. They offer daily breakfast, storage bins, a place to receive mail, shower and laundry facilities, computers, job, and house search assistance and a comfortable environment and place to meet.

Total Action for Progress


Total Action for Progress is a 50-year-old community action organization providing a range of services to low-income individuals in Southwestern Virginia. TAP helps individuals and families achieve economic and personal independence through education, employment, affordable housing, and safe and healthy environments.
