The Lynchburg Redevelopment and Housing Authority is dedicated to the improvement of the quality of life for all Lynchburg citizens by being a leader in community development, revitalizing neighborhoods and facilitating economic growth and development, by seeking and entering into partnership with organizations and clients to achieve safe, decent, and affordable housing, with an emphasis on homeownership, maintained in a manner that fosters pride and dignity. Programs include public housing, housing voucher program, rental rehabilitation and Coordinated Homeless Intake and Access (CHIA).

The Haven is a multi-resource day shelter for people facing homelessness. They offer daily breakfast, storage bins, a place to receive mail, shower and laundry facilities, computers, job, and house search assistance and a comfortable environment and place to meet.
